Textured, plus a point cloud

SPAR3DAlpha

Stability AI's successor to Stable Fast 3D. A UV-unwrapped, textured mesh plus an editable point cloud.

One of several local engines in 3D Mate. Switch per model, any time.

SPAR3D runs fully offline on a Mac inside 3D Mate. Stability AI's successor to Stable Fast 3D turns one photo into a UV-unwrapped, textured mesh plus an editable point cloud, generated entirely on Apple Silicon in a minute or two, with no cloud upload and no account. It needs 16 GB of unified memory (24 GB recommended) and about 17 GB of disk. The point cloud lets you adjust the shape before the final mesh, and it exports GLB, USDZ, OBJ, STL, and PLY. For a faster, lighter draft use TripoSR; for the sharpest geometry see TripoSG.

What it is great at

  • Turns a single photo into a UV-unwrapped, textured mesh, plus an editable point cloud you can adjust.
  • Reconstructs the unseen back surfaces more faithfully than the fast draft models.
  • Runs fully and fast on Apple Silicon, roughly a minute or two, locally and privately.

Trade-offs

  • Not the sharpest geometry here. Reach for TripoSG when the shape matters most.
  • Requires a "Powered by Stability AI" attribution (Community License, under $1M revenue).
  • Alpha: still a work in progress.

FAQ

Does SPAR3D run offline on Mac?
Yes. SPAR3D runs entirely on your Mac, fully offline and on-device. No internet connection, no cloud account, and nothing you import or generate ever leaves your machine.
Do I need an internet connection or an account to use SPAR3D?
No. Once 3D Mate and the SPAR3D engine are installed, everything runs locally on Apple Silicon. You can generate 3D models with SPAR3D on a Mac that is completely offline.
